Correcting a trick of the light brings molecules into view
Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, a member of QB3, led a team that developed a technique to increase the precision of optical microscopy to the sub-nanometer level. The technique could be used to see molecules in living cells. (read more)

iCLEM program provides Bay Area students with hands-on science experience and a salary
A program sponsored in part by QB3 partner SynBERC trains disadvantaged Bay Area high school students in the techniques of molecular biology. Students undertake eight-week projects focused on biofuels. (read more)
