Our approach, developed with the collaboration of the UC Berkeley Nanomedicine Development Center for the Optical Control of Biological Function involves applying “molecular photoswitches”, small photoisomerizable molecules, to the remaining retinal cells, restoring light-sensitivity to the retina. -
