QB3 seeks to fill chem/bioinformatics developer position

Developer and Bio/Cheminformatics Specialist
A Specialist position is available with the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) screening centers in the University of California (UC):
- The Small Molecule Discovery Center (SMDC) at UC San Francisco (UCSF)
- The Chemical Screening Center (CSC) at UC Santa Cruz (UCSC)
- The Berkeley Screening Center (BSC) at UC Berkeley (UCB)
The screening centers specialize in high-throughput screening (HTS) with small molecules, siRNA, and natural products and are grant-supported groups focused on medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. The position will be based at UCSF Mission Bay Campus.
The successful candidate will be part of the informatics team, working closely with scientists to solve problems and determine requirements, and developing software for joint use by the screening centers and responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the development of a web application that disseminates, analyses and compares HTS results
- Develop new processes and data visualizations
- Manage the chemical- and bioinformatics databases at the QB3 centers.
