Facilities

A fundamental goal of QB3 is to break down the barriers between traditional disciplines and bring scientists together. Researchers accomplish more when they join forces to share expertise and ideas.

On the UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, and UCSF campuses, QB3 has constructed buildings designed to encourage our faculty to work together. Core facilities in these buildings provide QB3 researchers with capacities such as advanced imaging, large-scale computation, and high-throughput screening. Our scientists meet and interact as they share these facilities. Their complementary strengths enable them to achieve more together than they would separately. As a result, many papers in leading journals represent contributions by multiple QB3 faculty, often from different campuses.
