Jonathan Murray

Jonathan is driving the development and commercialization of disruptive technology that is re-imagining healthcare toward a vision of Healthymagination. His organization ensures that multi-discipline teams spanning the breath of GE incubate the sparks of innovation. One current project was recently featured on the cover of Nature. Dynamic Nuclear Polarization of 13C labeled substrates has enabled the real-time in vivo imaging of metabolism with potential applications to improved disease characterization and therapy response.

During his +25 year career, he has held numerous product and process roles including: Design Engineer; Champion, Design for Six Sigma; Engineering Mgr for ECG Division and General Mgr. for a $700M premium CT division. Leveraging a collaborative style, Jon, has been pioneering the application of multi-campus “Research Circles” to enhance the Academic – Industry relationships needed to accelerate the bench-to-bedside transformation of medical technology. 

Jonathan holds a BSEE from Purdue University, a MSEE From Marquette University and a MBA from Kellogg, Northwestern University. He received the National Heroes Award from Emergency Medical Services for Children for applying a color-coding system to enhance pediatric safety during CT scans. Jon was received the Outstanding Electrical Engineer award from Purdue in 2009. He is also an Eagle Scout, Graduate of the GE Edison Engineering Program and as been allowed Six US patents, including a Gender Specific ECG interpretation algorithm.
