| Regis B. Kelly, Ph.D. QB3 Director Regis B. Kelly is a distinguished neuroscientist and former executive vice chancellor of UCSF (from October, 2001 until January 31, 2004). As executive vice chancellor, Kelly oversaw the UCSF research enterprise, which now totals about $465 million annually. He also forged new research ties between the university and private industry. Kelly directs the institute at its headquarters on UCSF's Mission Bay campus and also maintains a Berkeley office. |

David Haussler, Ph.D. QB3-Santa Cruz Director David Haussler holds a UC Presidential Chair in Computer Science, is director of the Center for Biomolecular Science & Engineering at UC Santa Cruz, and is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator. He earned his undergraduate degree in mathematics from Connecticut College, and his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. David Haussler's webpage |

Susan Marqusee, M.D., Ph.D. QB3-Berkeley Director Susan Marqusee is a professor of molecular and cell biology in UC Berkeley's Division of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She received her A.B. in Physics and Chemistry from Cornell University, and her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University. Andrej Sali, Ph.D. QB3-UCSF Director Andrej Sali is a professor in the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at UCSF. Marc A. Shuman, M.D. QB3 Clinical Director Marc Shuman is professor of medicine at UCSF. As clinical director for QB3, Shuman catalyzes and facilitates translational research collaborations between clinical and QB3 basic scientists. He is one of the founders and leaders of the UCSF prostate cancer and multiple myeloma research programs. He has served as principal investigator on multiple NIH R01 grants as well as Program Project and SPORE grants. He earned his M.D. from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.
